Pitched by my doorstep. It’s hard not to smile, hard to not think maybe things really will be alright when it comes on. If that song was written, with those notes attached to it perfectly, then it must mean that someone/something is looking out for all of us. It’s not the only example, but the idea of how a thought with a touch of sound has positively affected so many. Potentially turning a crap day around. Potentially adding confidence to a major life decision. Did he know this outcome in 1977 when it was born? I would assume not, as it was likely just a thought that simply made him smile. And he probably continues to smile with each grin that forms when someone hears those first few beats. I thank him for that grin.
