1978. Wanted to go with something highlighting these awesome classic Astros’ uniforms. As I kid, I saw some older photos of them and thought they were ridiculous, but I think they are fabulous now.

Michael Duane “Bo” McLaughlin, but had the sly alias of Grim Bimbledon. Not sure where it came from, but it’s great.
As a player, one of things he is remembered for is getting hit by a line drive in the face from future Hall of Famer Harold Baines in 1981.
“I threw a 91 mph sinker and he hit it back at me 103,” McLaughlin said. “My eye socket was broken in five places. I also had a shattered cheekbone and stress fractures to my nose and jaw.
“They (doctors) didn’t know whether I was going to live or die. I was supposed to die. I threw up five towels full of blood and went into shock.
“I was bruised from my forehead to the bottom of my rib cage. I had whiplash. The whole left side of my face was rebuilt.”
Amazingly he managed to make it back to the mound to pitch again that season.
