Nightlight.

Got a jog in, a little later than my normal. The moon was there on every turn. Once I noticed it, I realized it seemed to be shining down only on me. Each time I looked up, it was inching closer to me. It was a nice little way to end the week, and now I get to wake to another session of outdoor yoga in the morning. Maybe not too exciting, but a couple relaxing things to head into a weekend.

Interesting to me how the entire moon showed up in the photo when I could only see the crescent in real life.

My cool down included a listen to The Grass Roots’ song “Let’s Live For Today.” Definitely some good lyrics about living in the here and now. It always seems so obvious and easy to focus on what is right in front of us, but we often make it more difficult than it needs to be. We need to get out of our own way sometimes. Let us all try to see the good all around us. It is there. Even the simple good of a moon lighting the path of a jog.

When I think of all the worries
That people seem to find
And how they’re in a hurry
To complicate their minds
By chasing after money
And dreams that can’t come true
I’m glad that we are different
We’ve better things to do
May others plan their future
I’m busy loving you

Strategically hiding behind flowers. You can barely spot them.

This Grass Roots’ number was released May 13, 1967. A year earlier, it was released with Italian lyrics by The Rokes with a song titled “Piangi Con Me.” Given that I don’t know Italian, I’ll stick with the Grass Roots version, although it was fun to pull it up to give a listen.

I learned something new today.
