Embrace the wrenches.

Normally attending a conference for CME (continuing medical education) is a pretty big commitment. The time to head to some city, stepping away from work, paying for a flight and hotel. Definitely some positives with attending such as finding some local beer and food.

This year is a bit different. It seems pretty much all conferences have managed to switch over to a virtual format. The experience isn’t quite the same, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing. I was able to swap out sitting in conference hall for walking outdoors with ear buds. I very much enjoyed it. I got some sun. I got some time sweating. Listening to some great medical lectures and learning ideas to grow my practice.

More relaxing than a conference room.

This was the first of 4 total virtual conferences I’ve signed up for over the next several months. This particular one was about Integrative Medicine for the underserved population. There were many great topics overall, and I am very happy I registered myself to attend. I am always wanting to do better for my patients, and I don’t want COVID to get in the way of that.

Blue beyond blue skies.

COVID has thrown wrenches into pretty much every aspect of everything. Forcing us to evolve. I have to believe we will learn ways to do some things better, more efficient. We have to embrace the wrenches. Those wrenches helped me find some Canada Goldenrod. I wouldn’t have ever noticed it, nor read about it if it wasn’t for COVID. A single plant can have 1500 flower heads. Those flower heads are where the name comes from, as their yellow color gives an appearance of a golden ocean.

The flowers haven’t sprouted on this guy yet.

First successful virtual conference is completed.

Me 1 – COVID 0.
