Countdown.

210 days away. 30 weeks.

In September, my plan will to be enjoying a triathlon in Michigan. Maybe not enjoying the actual triathlon, but enjoying the experience of doing it. I had recently signed up for it with a friend.

Religiously follow a training program. Be faithful about regularly doing yoga. Eat better. Sleep better. Work better. Relax better. Lose 10 pounds.

I know it’s not just me, but how often when we make a goal or get a big idea, and our minds go to some unrealistic, regimented life. We might be able to stick to it for a few days or a few weeks, but many times it fizzles out after that.

So my goal is to keep my goals realistic. I don’t have drastically overhaul my world, as I’ll only feel like a failure if I don’t meet those expectations I set for myself. If I lose weight while training, great! If I eat a bit better, fabulous! If I’m occasionally better about not staying up too late, superb!

What I know of today is that I have a second cup of hot coffee in front of me, and I registered online for a late morning yoga class. Even if that’s all that the day ends up being, then that’s still a good way to officially start my training.

Surprisingly awkward to hold a coffee cup in my left hand.
